What it is

Holi (Rangwali Holi or Dhulandi) is celebrated the morning after Holika Dahan, with coloured powders, water, music and sweets such as gujiya.

Traditional significance

Holi invites us to set aside old grudges, mend relationships and celebrate together, whatever our differences.

History and culture

It is especially associated with the playful love of Radha and Krishna in Braj (Mathura and Vrindavan), where the celebrations last for days.

A suggested practice

A colourful reconciliation · about 5 minutes

  1. Think of someone you have drifted from.
  2. Send them a warm message, without needing to settle the past.
  3. Notice how your body feels after reaching out.

Affirmation

I choose joy and generosity.

Reflection question

Whom could I forgive, or ask forgiveness from, this spring?
